Project Acceptance
Submitting your deposit and your manuscript to Ignite, LLC, to Lindsey Vernon (EIC), or any other Ignite, LLC employee constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Rights and Ownership

Client retains all rights to their original manuscript throughout the editing process

Editor retains rights to all editorial contributions (markup, notes, suggestions, revisions) until payment is fully processed

Upon completed payment processing, rights to editorial contributions transfer to Client
-
Unauthorized use of editorial contributions before payment processing may result in legal action
Content Guidelines
Ignite, LLC reserves the right to decline manuscripts depicting:

Child abuse
-
Sexual abuse
-
Erotica
-
Exploitation or abuse of oppressed/enslaved individuals
-
Stories claiming to represent a minority community yet not told by the minority community

If an Editor encounters any of the above content during the editing process, Ignite, LLC may terminate the client's contract with no advanced notice and no refund for work completed. In this instance, the client is still liable to reimburse Ignite, LLC for work completed through the contract termination date.

Complete, proofread manuscript (3rd draft or higher preferred)

No chapter-by-chapter submissions, outlines, or summaries
Project Timeline

Specific start/end dates established in contract

Client must deliver manuscript on agreed date

Late submissions may result in project rescheduling

Client response required within 72 hours for queries

One 30-day revision period included for the first round of edits
-
One 2-week revision period included for the final review and sign off
Payment Terms

Each payment is due within 30 business days of the invoice
-
Late payments incur 10% fee
-
50% deposit required to secure booking
-
Final payment due upon project completion
-
Editorial materials released after payment processing
-
Client responsible for debt collection fees, if applicable
Scope Changes
-
Changes exceeding 1,000 words require written authorization
-
Additional fees apply at original per-word rate
-
Changes exceeding 25% of manuscript require contract reassessment

All changes to project scope and timeline must be in the form of a written request to the Editor in Chief. The request must have a physical or electronic signature to accept the request, from the EIC and client, before new work commences and before the schedule shifts.

Consultation fees apply after initial meeting ($50/hour)
File Corruption/Technical Issues

Editor not responsible for corrupt files

Formatting stability not guaranteed with corrupted documents

Client responsible for maintaining backups
Termination
Either party may terminate the contract with written notice. The Client is liable to reimburse Ignite, LLC for any work completed through the termination date, charged at the normal project rates/fees according to the contract.

Disputes
The client must send written notice to the Editor in Chief of any project disputes. The EIC will work directly with the client to improve their experience and find a suitable resolution. We work diligently to provide a high-quality experience for our clients and want to ensure everyone feels, not only satisfied, but highly pleased with our collaboration at project end.
